Book of Esther [Blu-ray]

My most favorite movie, because it was made for anyone who hasn't read the Bible it brings Esther to life and all the characters are wearing clothes of that time. David R White did a fantastic job, may he make more of the chapter's of the Bible in the future!!

I love this movie! I had previously owned it, watched it multiple times, shared it with someone else who didn't return it, so bought myself another copy. SO GLAD I have it again!

It tell a story of faith in God that's need to be watched by all.

Really ' beginner's acting'...this great story of Esther was not done justice with this film.Watch "One Night With The King"...MUCH better story(with some embellishment), more colorful, more realistic.Really disappointed with this movie purchase.

This religious film is a moving, epic biblical story about a Jewess orphan who, through an odd twist in events, ascends to royalty in the ancient Persian empire, and ultimately saves the Jews from total annihilation. Queen Esther and Mordecai, her male guardian who raised her, are the unforgettable heroes, and their story is well told in "The Book of Esther." The characterization is well done; the storyline flows well; and the dialogues and interrelationships are entertaining. Gentle humor is often employed in its scenes, as the plot thickens with the destructive plans of the wicked Haman (may his name and memory be erased). This movie portrayal of the biblical book of "Esther" also explains the origins of the Jewish holiday of Purim. For biblical movie buffs, I highly recommend a viewing of this excellent film!

This is an atrocious film.The book of Esther (or any other) should not be meddled with.The era is pre-christian. Yet from the start it makes use of Christian symbols and iconics as if the ancient Hebrews were spiritually at one with G-d through the Roman torture system.The acting is terrible. The sets were awful, as were the props. The script was a long long way off into the realms of artistic licence. Major events were missing - Spoken through for lack of funds. Music, Photography and lighting did not make up for the lack of production value with its copious amounts of plastic flowers and plastic food on display.All in all pretty ghastly.If this were Christian era story the language and tone would be acceptable. But it isn't.Instead, this is more of a Christian propaganda film. One with no historic accuracy or Hebraic religious value.And so expensive, too!

Bought this as a gift for my mum and we watched it at Christmas as a family. It was a pleasent surprise. There was a powerful message repeated throughout the movie and, overall the content was really entertaining. Definitely recommend, and suggest to keep an open mind.
