I've recently purchased a dash cam for my car. The best location (behind the mirror towards the passenger side) has black dot sunshade on it so the suction cup isn't very effective. The box came with two.*Make sure you have the correct size. The suction cup has ~1mm on either side and this is perfect for the suction cup I used. When in doubt get the bigger size.*The adhesive foam part is black or a very dark grey when viewed from outside and is very inconspicuous*Tilt one side down when attaching to minimize bubbles.

So far this has worked well. But wish I had found one a little larger in diameter. I phone 6 & 6 plus for example are heavy with case. The larger the disk you use, the more area used as the primary anchor point. Had to clean dash three times with alcohol wipes and I am sure this is normal. A standard size suction cup will use all the diameter on this unit.

I had to replace the tape with the store bought double-sided heavy duty stuff.

Compact

I bought these to use with my suction cup phone holder in my car. Unfortunately, after a couple weeks, it was not able to hold the weight of the holder and the phone and fell off. I used the other one and the same thing happened. I had cleaned the area very well before sticking it to a smooth suface and it just couldn't support the weight.

This is a great product for the money it does exactly what it’s intended for with no problem
