I wish I had read this book years ago! I learned so much from this. Dr. Steelsmith is effective in explaining how our bodies function and describing different ailments and how to treat them naturally. Her first-person format and case studies allow for easy reading.I did read the book cover to cover, but you don't have to. Dr. Steelsmith recommends reading chapter 1, which gives an overview of health and good eating tips. From there you can pick and choose what sections you wish to read, depending on what areas of your health need focus.I am fortunate to be a patient of Dr. Steelsmith, who is a naturopathic physician and acupuncturist. She has helped me find solutions to my many health problems through sessions with her, and through her book.I liked the book so much, I ordered one for my mom and sister. Now we can compare notes, and have a great resource for natural solutions for our health needs.

I bought this for my Mom for Christmas and i stole it for myself. I was reading through it before i wrapped it for her and it was too amazing to give away. The information is fantastic and it is very straight forward and easy to understand. I wish the author's practice wasn't in Hawaii so i could get in to see her, she is amazing. I highly recommend this to anyone who is tired of the endless cycles of medicines and feeling terrible, it is a release from modern medicine and a breath of fresh air.

I am only on the 2nd Chapter but as the Author wrote--She wrote the book she always hoped to find. It is really thorough and I really like how she has broken down chapters to 10 areas of the body that need particular attention. I believe in Natural Health remedies and Laurie Steelsmith explains Western as well as Eastern views in all areas. Can't wait to keep reading!

I have enjoyed reading many health books over the years and this one really caught my eye. I loved the uniqueness of how chinese medicine and natural medicine were brought together in this book. I have never seen that done before. It's a very understandable and comprehensive journey through women's health issues. I have enjoyed it very much and have recommended it to many friends and family. What a great assest this book is to my health library!!
